Sony ZV-E10 II Unveiled with Powerful Sensor and 4K 60p
Sony has unveiled the ZV-E10 II, a significant upgrade to its popular vlogging camera, the ZV-E10. Designed with content creators in mind, this new model boasts a range of enhancements that solidify its position as a top contender in the vlogging camera market.
Key Features and Improvements
Powerful Sensor: The ZV-E10 II features the same 26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor in Sony’s a6700 cameras. This sensor delivers exceptional image quality, improved low-light performance, and a wide ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable to 102400). Capture stunning 4K video at up to 60p with minimal cropping, thanks to the efficient 5.6K oversampling. Additionally, it can record FHD footage at 120p, offering smooth slow-motion capabilities.Advanced Autofocus: The camera incorporates a Fast Hybrid 759-point phase-detection system and an AI Processing Unit for swift and precise autofocus, even with moving subjects. Real-Time Subject Tracking and Real-Eye AF ensure your subjects remain sharp and in focus.
The ZV-E10 II supports 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording in XAVC HS and XAVC S-I formats, with data rates up to 600 Mb/s. It also includes S-Cinetone, and S-Gamut3. Cine, and S-Log3 for flexible color grading in post-production.
One of the most significant upgrades is the ZV-E10 II’s battery life. Sony has listened to user feedback and equipped the camera with the larger NP-FZ100 battery, a substantial improvement over the original ZV-E10’s battery.
This new battery significantly boosts recording time, allowing for approximately 195 minutes of continuous movie recording on a single charge. This extended battery life is a game-changer for creators who require longer shooting sessions without interruption. Additionally, the ZV-E10 II supports USB-C charging and USB PD (Power Delivery), enabling quick and convenient charging on the go or even while streaming.
This extended battery life and fast charging options make the ZV-E10 II a reliable companion for creators who need to shoot for extended periods without worrying about running out of power.
User-Friendly Design: The ZV-E10 II retains its compact and lightweight design of its predecessor, making it ideal for on-the-go content creation. The fully articulating touchscreen LCD and refined menu system enhance the overall user experience.
Enhanced Audio: The ZV-E10 II includes a directional 3-capsule microphone with a windscreen for clear audio capture and supports external microphones via the 3.5mm mic input or Sony’s Multi Interface Shoe.E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II Lens
Sony also launched the second-generation kit zoom lens, the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II. This 16-50 mm (35mm full-frame equivalent: 24-75 mm) power zoom lens is perfect for day-to-day stills and movies. It weighs just 107 grams (3.8 oz.) and collapses to 31.3 mm (1-1/4 inch) when powered off. Durability is excellent, refined AF ensures reliable focus even while zooming, and built-in image stabilisation minimises blur. Breathing compensation is supported with compatible bodies.
Excellent optical performance
The lens’s advanced optical design, featuring four aspherical elements and one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) element, ensures exceptional sharpness and clarity across the entire 16-50mm zoom range (equivalent to 24-75mm on a full-frame camera). This combination of specialized elements minimizes chromatic aberration (color fringing), while delivering high resolution and smooth bokeh for a professional look. Additionally, the lens excels in close-up photography with a minimum focus distance of just 0.25 meters (0.82 feet) at the wide end and 0.30 meters (0.99 feet) at the telephoto end, allowing you to capture intricate details and create visually compelling compositions.
