The extremely precise bokeh makes it possible, for example, to focus on the pupil of the model and at the same time make the eyelashes blur. Add to this impressive bokeh, the focus area is extremely high resolution. In the SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Type 14 lens elements are built in 12 groups – a remarkable structure that brings the ultra-high resolution of the lens. Therefore, this lens is an excellent choice for full-frame DSLRs with a resolution of 50 megapixels and more.

Construction
Special low dispersion (SLD) glass elements and optimized power distribution help minimize longitudinal chromatic aberrations. In the areas in front of and behind the focal point, the optical system provides an attractive and natural bokeh, with an absolutely gentle sharpness, with virtually no streaking.
Newly developed HSM for a fast AF
The redesigned HSM (Hyper Sonic engine) delivers 1.3 times the speed of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it offers exceptionally stable performance and the improved AF algorithm contributes to fast autofocus. In addition, thanks to the manual override function, turning the focus ring even in the focus tracking AF mode allows manual focusing. So the perfect focus point is found quickly, without first having to press the focus switch.
Compatible with the connection converter MC-11
Owners of different camera systems can now use their valuable lenses flexibly and Sony E-mount camera owners can enjoy a bright medium telephoto lens.
Round aperture
The nearly round aperture consists of 9 aperture blades and provides a very pleasant bokeh outside the focal plane of the picture. The Super Multi-Layer Compensation (SML) prevents reflections and ghosting for sharp and high-contrast images.
SIGMA USB dock
With this USB dock the new SIGMA lenses of the product lines Contemporary, Art and Sports can be adapted to the personal needs of every photographer. For this purpose we have developed a special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro), with which you can easily update the lens firmware and, for example, Adjust focus parameters
Own A1 MTF measuring system
We have our own A1 MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system, which uses the 46 megapixel Foveon direct image sensor. Using this system, we review every lens of our new product line in our factory. Even previously unrecognizable high-frequency details have now become auditable as part of our quality control, which allows us to deliver consistently high lens performance.
